Intact GP Juniors ready for the heat of Jerez
Round four of the JuniorGP™ series with Moto3™ Junior World Championship, Moto2™ European Championship and European Talent Cup takes the young riders of the German LIQUI MOLY Intact GP Junior Team to the Circuito de Jerez in southern Spain.
The 4.4 kilometres long circuit on the outskirts of Jerez de la Frontera is also a permanent fixture to the junior series calendar. However, the timing of this year's event in mid-summer means a special task for everyone involved.
LIQUI MOLY Intact GP Junior Team from Germany’s Allgäu region is heading to Andalusia with Lukas Tulovic as the overall leader in Moto2™ European Championship. After three race wins in a row at the start of the season, the 21-year-old from Eberbach and his crew recently had to settle for two second places in Barcelona. This Sunday, however, the squad is eagerly determined to put the order on the podium back to its right again.
In JuniorGP™ Moto3 class, Phillip Tonn and Jakob Rosenthaler have sufficient track knowledge to continue the encouraging upward trend. The 16-year-old Jakob Rosenthaler from Linz was already in Jerez two months ago this year with the Red Bull MotoGP™ Rookies Cup, just as his team mate Phillip Tonn from Mattstedt has already ridden many laps aboard a Moto3 machine at the famous Circuito. Both talents are aiming to open their points account in the fiercely contested Junior World Championship this Sunday with positions in the top 15.
After a difficult start for Niklas Kitzbichler to gain a foothold in European Talent Cup right away, all efforts of the whole team are now again focused on getting the young Tyrolean rider into the main race.
With the event at the Circuito de Jerez, the series reaches its halfway point of the season. On race day, as usual, there will be a live stream via the series' YouTube channel.
