Aegerter finishes pre-season testing as hopeful second and race simulation winner

Over the past three days, the MotoE World Cup completed its final test in preparation for the fourth season of the all-electric championship. Dominique Aegerter, in his third year for the German Dynavolt Intact GP team, concludes the winter and spring tests in second overall and winner of the final race simulation.

It was not an easy few days in Jerez de la Frontera, Andalusia, as once again changeable weather affected the course of the three scheduled sessions per test day, in which, among other things, the new qualifying format with Q1 and Q2 á la MotoGP was tested and a race simulation was completed.

The 31-year-old Swiss already rode consistently fast laps on Monday but decided to sit out Tuesday because of a partly wet track. However, the Dynavolt Intact GP team was not idle. Dominique Aegerter, the runner-up in 2021, reaped the rewards of this good setup work on the third and final day of the test.

With position two in the overall test standings, Aegerter started from P2 into the race simulation on Wednesday afternoon, which he ultimately won by a landslide margin of 1.6s over Spaniard Hector Garzo. Therefore the signs for another successful MotoE season are excellent.

For the opening two races in Jerez in less than three weeks, last year's Supersport World Champion is hoping for a similarly successful finish, as his pace and feel for the Energica Ego Corsa are very strong and promising.
