Dynavolt Intact GP - Ready for the start of the 2022 MotoE season
The Dynavolt Intact GP team and Dominique Aegerter, their successful protege from 2020 and 2021, are ready to start the season opener of their third joint MotoE World Cup season this weekend in Jerez de la Frontera, Andalusia.
After finishing third in the first year and as runner-up in the last, Swiss rider Dominique Aegerter is no less ambitious to fight for the win of the 2022 title. For the 31-year-old Aegerter, seven stops with two races per weekend each are on the schedule in the upcoming MotoE season.
One of the new features this year will be the qualifying format adapted from the MotoGP World Championship with Q1 and Q2. This is made possible by a fast-charging innovation from Enel. With an output of 60 kW, the Juice Pump 60 Race Edition charging units enable the Energica Ego Corsa machines to be partially charged from Q1 and then put back on track shortly afterwards in the second qualifying session. With Mugello and Finland (tbc), there are also new tracks on the agenda for the 14-race season, in which a 15kg lighter engine will also be available to the riders.
The anticipation for the start of the season is high among everyone in the restructured German racing team Dynavolt Intact GP, having completed the two pre-season tests at the 4.4km Circuito de Jerez-Angel Nieto as second fastest and race simulation winner, and having claimed a second place last year.
The new qualifying and double race format consequently results in a new schedule, with the two free practice sessions as well as Q1 and Q2 already being held on Friday, followed by an 8-lap race on both Saturday and Sunday.
