Dominique Aegerter ends first official MotoE test in Jerez as overall fastest

For the third time in a row, the German Dynavolt Intact GP Team is bringing the experienced Swiss rider Dominique Aegerter to the start of the FIM Enel MotoE™ World Cup. Before the start of the season, the first three official test days were held in Jerez de la Frontera, where the partly newly formed team prepared for the 2022 MotoE season.

The first official pre-season test of the electric class has now taken place on the same track, where the MotoE class will start its fourth season from April 30 - May 01, 2022.

After 31-year-old Dominique Aegerter finished the first day of testing as the fastest rider of the day, he took a calmer approach on the completely rainy Tuesday to not take any unnecessary risks. His feeling was positive in dry, wet and mixed conditions. Meanwhile, in the respective three twenty-minute sessions per day, the geometry, transmission and front and rear suspension were worked on.

According to Energica, the new engine is 15 kg lighter and Michelin also delivered an updated rear tyre to Jerez. According to the Swiss, however, the changes are hardly noticeable. Monday's fastest lap time, a 1:48.634, was even slower than last years lap time.

Thanks to his best time from the first day, which remained unchallenged until Day 3, last year's MotoE Cup runner-up and reigning Supersport World Champion leaves the first test as the fastest rider to beat, ahead of Jordi Torres and Eric Granado, who have been among his fiercest rivals in the past.
