Schrötter and Alcoba form the new LIQUI MOLY Intact GP line-up 2022
The LIQUI MOLY Intact GP team is delighted with the new rider constellation from next season onwards with Marcel Schrötter and the Spaniard Jeremy Alcoba, who is climbing up into the Moto2 category with the German racing team.
2022 will be the sixth season for Marcel Schrötter in the LIQUI MOLY Intact GP family. The team is proud to have accompanied the exceptional German talent in his development over the last few years. During this time, he took three pole positions and celebrated his first Grand Prix podium in Misano in 2018. This was followed in 2019 by podiums in Qatar, in Austin and an unforgettable third place at the home race at the Sachsenring! In the 2020 season, in Austria the Kalex rider stormed to his fifth podium to date in Moto2 from the front row.
With his potential, which Marcel Schrötter has proven throughout the years in the most fiercely contested World Championship class, he wants to fight for further success in the remaining five races in 2021 as well as in the coming season.
Newcomer to the team, 19-year-old Jeremy Alcoba, will certainly be able to benefit from the experience of his future teammate as he moves up to Moto2. However, the Spaniard also already has a number of achievements to show in his short career so far! In 2019, the young rider won the Moto3 Junior World Championship and then rode his first season in the Moto3 World Championship in 2020. He immediately seemed at home on the big world stage and was a regular top ten contender. That earned him the “Rookie of the Year” title at Valencia before he finished his debut year with the first podium of his GP career at the season show-down in Portimao.
So far in the current 2021 season, the youngster has added two more podium finishes to his tally. After two years in the Moto3 World Championship, a new chapter now follows for him next year with the promotion to Moto2. Jeremy Alcoba wants to take this important step towards his MotoGP dream with the LIQUI MOLY Intact GP team and the racing squad is very happy about that!
