LIQUI MOLY Intact GP – With a motivation boost to the European season opener in Portimao

LIQUI MOLY Intact GP riders Marcel Schrötter and Jeremy Alcoba are highly motivated for the much-anticipated European season opener at the Portugal GP from April 22-24, 2022, and want to follow up their fantastic results from Austin with further top results.

Even though the Easter holidays were spent recovering after the long-haul travels between the first four overseas Grand Prix of the 2022 season, the German racing team is still revelling in joyful memories of the race Sunday at the Circuit of the Americas two weeks ago, which ended in a brilliant fourth place for Marcel Schrötter and a Top 6 result for his rookie colleague Jeremy Alcoba.

However, the anticipation for the season opener on European soil is also high as the LIQUI MOLY Intact GP team's recruits completed a successful winter test at the 4.6km circuit, which is nestled in the beautiful surroundings of Portugal's Algarve region.

The current World Championship tenth, Marcel Schrötter, rode in the top 10 at both events at the Autodromo Internacional do Algarve in 2021 and the 29-year-old also still has fond memories of the winter test earlier this year. The Bavarian is therefore hoping to continue the upward trend and once again move within the top positions.

Youngster Jeremy Alcoba, for his part, is also a big fan of the Portuguese racetrack. Last year's Moto3 rider finished his two races in Portimao in P14 and P4 at the end of the season, which is emblematic of the enormous progress the Spaniard has already made in his still-young career. The 20-year-old has also been more than convincing in the four races of the 2022 season to date.

Both Marcel Schrötter and Jeremy Alcoba will be doing everything in their power to deliver another strong performance, as they did last time out in Texas, in the 23-lap race on Sunday afternoon, which will be the crowning finale of the Portugal Grand Prix at 15:30 (CEST).
