Brno: Starting into the second half of the season with a clear goal in mind

Tom Lüthi and Marcel Schrötter arrive with recharged energy after the three weeks summer break to Brno in Czech Republic and are highly motivated to start into the second half of the 2019 season.

The Dynavolt Intact GP squad starts the second part of the year as the leading team of the Moto2 World Championship. With a solid 13-points-gap the racing team from Memmingen in Germany currently leads in front of the Flexbox-Team. It's now the target to increase the gap during the following two back-to-back races in Brno / Czech Republic and in Spielberg / Austria.

Chances are high, as the crew has two riders in the field, who are able to fight for this year's title. In reach is Brno winner of 2017, Tom Lüthi, who arrives in second position in the championship to the 50th Grand Prix of the Czech Republic. Thanks to his collected 128 points, he is following the current leader Alex Marquez with only eight points disadvantage.

Also Marcel Schrötter, who left for the summer break after a few difficult races with a big bang, when he stormed onto the podium at his home race at the Sachsenring circuit, only misses 5 points to the top 3. With 97 points he is equal with Lorenzo Baldassarri and Jorge Navarro and occupies the sixth position at the moment. The 36 points the 26-years-old is currently missing to the lead might sound a lot, but the season still has ten races long and the motivation is high.

This said, Marcel Schrötter is one of only two riders, who have now scored points in all nine of the Moto2 races in 2019. This makes it now since Thailand 2018 a total of 13 successive races that he was arriving inside the points.

If the Intact GP riders will hopefully get good results on the 5.4 km long racetrack of the Automotodrom Brno this weekend, they can directly continue with it one week later at the Red Bull Ring in Spielberg, Austria and build up a decent buffer for the rest of the season.
