Excited to ride on the Silverstone Circuit

This weekend the Dynavolt Intact GP riders Tom Lüthi and Marcel Schrötter will head to Silverstone in Great Britain. The island in the North Atlantic will host the twelfth race of the 2019 season.

With 5.9 kilometres, the Silverstone Circuit, which is located about 90 minutes northwest of London, is the longest in the current racing calendar and also one of the fastest. Last season was supposed to see the ninth consecutive Grand Prix of Great Britain taking place on the circuit in Northamptonshire.

But then, due to rainfall and too much water on the track on Sunday, the Moto3, Moto2 and MotoGP races had to be cancelled for safety reasons. There is therefore great hope of seeing race action again this year on the track with a completely new tarmac surface. The weather forecasts look very promising, and it's likely to stay dry.

Tom Lüthi is looking forward to arrive in England, where he celebrated as winner on the podium in Moto2 in 2016. The Swiss currently follows world championship leader Alex Marquez in second place with a 43-point gap. It's high time to catch up again. After a promising test on the Red Bull Ring last week, the Intact GP rider is in good spirits for the twelfth race of the season.

Marcel Schrötter can finally make a Silverstone Grand Prix comeback after he couldn't take part in 2017 because of his scaphoid injury and beside of the practice sessions in 2018 it's been three years now since he had a race on the British Isles. The 26-year-old left Spielberg with a positive feeling after doing a very good job with his team at the one-day test and is more than ready for the upcoming World Championship hunt, as he has 12 points to catch up to the top 3.
