First MotoE championship points at the Sachsenring circuit
Jesko Raffin fights his way from 17th to 13th position and earns first championship points at the home race of the Dynavolt Intact GP team.
An interesting weekend comes to an end for the Dynavolt Intact GP team that was part of the start into a new era, when the FIM Enel MotoE™ World Cup had its first official outing at the Sachsenring circuit. On the practice-Friday, the 23-years-old Jesko Raffin was leading the first session and summed the day up in fourth position overall. The potential of the Energica Ego Corsa E-Bikes was clearly visible, the motivation high. At the new E-pole session on Saturday Jesko Raffin missed his time slot to go on track and his lap time, on which he would have had good chances to qualify on front row, was cancelled.
From 17th on the grid the young Swiss had to start into the declared „wet-race“, that was therefore shortened to seven laps. Jesko Raffin was able to build his way up to 13th position, when the race got red-flagged after just five laps due to the crash of Lorenzo Savadori in turn eight. Under the given circumstances the team is satisfied with the 13th position. The FIM Enel MotoE™ World Cup will have its second race, after the now following summer break, in Spielberg, Austria where hopefully the conditions for the race will be better.
