Successful rehearsal for MotoE at the Valencia-Test
From Monday to Wednesday the teams of the FIM Enel MotoE™ World Cup were testing under Spain’s blazing sun at the Ricardo-Tormo-Racetrack in Valencia.
The original plan was to carry out the first round of the Cup during the Spanish MotoGP-race in Jerez de la Frontera. But at the planned test in March 2019 all the material of the series went up in fire and the inaugural opening date was postponed to the Sachsenring GP in two weeks time from now. All of the with 147 HP strong Energica Ego Corsa MotoE™ bikes were revised and newly built and had their first outing during the last three days at the Valencia-Test.
Also the Dynavolt Intact GP Team is part of the FIM Enel MotoE™ World Cup and they will start it with the Swiss rider Jesko Raffin. The current Moto2-European champion has some experience and had his last commitment stepping in for the injured Steven Odendaal in the Moto2 world championship earlier this season. The racing squad wants to fight for the title of the 2019 season of the electric-racing-cup with the 23-years old. But first of all it was to get used to the new working material, therefore the content of the test was a general familiarisation for teams, riders and the new bikes.
They are ready for the new season now. With the simulation of both, an E-Pole (qualification lap) and a test race, the 18-riders-strong field was busy with the new works-material during the last three days. Some of the occurrences will need some more familiarisation time, but the Dynavolt Intact GP team is generally satisfied with what they achieved.
Jesko Raffin finished the race-simulation over seven laps in eleventh position with lap times of only 0.8 seconds off the top. The new E-bike and his team impress the Swiss. The first official outing of the new FIM Enel MotoE™ World Cup will be at the home race of the Dynavolt Intact GP Team, from 5th to 7th of July at the Sachsenring circuit in Germany.
