Unforeseen turn on a yet perfect MotoE weekend
Jesko Raffin misses out on going on track in time at first E-pole and has to scroll up the field at tomorrow’s race from behind.
The very first official E-pole-session of the FIM Enel MotoE™ World Cup for the Dynavolt Intact GP team took place today at the Sachsenring circuit. The work for this one perfect lap has persisted since a long time and the conditions were perfect. Jesko Raffin and his team already showed yesterday during the free practice sessions that they can handle the Energica Ego Corsa E-bike well and that the setup was right for tomorrow’s race.
But the timing has to be perfect for the Superpole-session. The 23-years-old Swiss only had five seconds to leave the pit lane for the E-pole. Unfortunately he missed his time slot and went out on track too late, whereby his lap time got cancelled. Jesko Raffin has to start the race tomorrow from last row of the grid and has only eight laps, to overtake as many as possible of his 17 competitors. This is disappointing, but mostly for the young Swiss as he feels very sorry for his team.
