Good conditions for LIQUI MOLY Dynavolt Intact GP at Jerez test

After bad weather in Portugal, preparations for the season were successfully completed at the well-known and famous circuit in Jerez de la Frontera, Spain.

This week, LIQUI MOLY Dynavolt Intact GP’s Moto3™ team began their preparations for the season on track. Unfortunately, Monday and Tuesday, when the first test days took place in Portimao, Portugal, were not particularly productive. The reason for this was continuous rain at the Algarve coastline.

A second two-day test was scheduled for Saturday and Sunday. The teams moved over to neighbouring Andalusia, visiting the Circuit de Jerez. In significantly better conditions — strong winds had disrupted proceedings somewhat on the first day — diligently worky on fine-tuning of the settings got underway.

After more than four months out due to injury, David Muñoz celebrated his comeback to the team and his race bike. However, the 19-year-old Spaniard is still suffering from the after-effects of his crash in Indonesia last October. Nevertheless, he proved himself to be a tough fighter and completed a total of 59 laps over the two days. At the end of the test, he finished in sixth place, just under half a second off the fastest time.

On the other side in the garage of the German team from Memmingen, newcomer David Almansa made a clean debut. The 20-year-old quickly found his feet in his new surroundings and with the KTM, which was previously unknown to him. After two intensive days of testing, the Spaniard posted the twelfth-fastest lap time.

After the test in Jerez, all the material and equipment was packed into shipping crates for the transport to Thailand, where the new championship will begin in a week and a half at the Chang International Circuit in Buriram.
