Intact GP: Full throttle into the Misano weekend
Just a few days after the Barcelona Grand Prix, the LIQUI MOLY Dynavolt Intact GP Team is well prepared for the upcoming race in San Marino. Local hero Guido Pini wants to achieve a top result in front of his home crowd, while David Muñoz is doing everything he can to close the three-point gap to the top three in the World Championship. Manuel Gonzalez and Senna Agius will be fighting for glory in Moto2 before the overseas races kick off the final phase of the season.
David Muñoz put in a strong performance in Barcelona despite finishing P8 and wants to build on his current form with another podium finish to collect valuable points in the World Championship battle. The 19-year-old is only three points behind the top three in the Moto3 overall standings, and with 175 points still up for grabs, all options are open.
Guido Pini achieved his best result of the season so far with sixth place in Catalonia and wants to give his all in front of his home crowd to further establish himself in the leading group. The 4.2-kilometre Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli, with its fast combinations of corners and flowing layout, demands precision and riding skills over the course of 20 race laps – the perfect challenge for the Intact GP riders and their experienced crews, who will be aiming for new heights with the support of the local fans.
Moto2 riders Manuel Gonzalez and Senna Agius are also ready to start the 16th race of the season. Gonzalez recently secured a strong and important fourth place at the Catalunya Grand Prix in Barcelona, thanks to which he was able to extend his overall lead in the World Championship battle to 38 points. The Spaniard is now entering the exciting final phase of an exciting Moto2 season with strong nerves and self-confidence. After a turbulent race in Barcelona, Senna Agius is all the more motivated to prove his enormous potential in Misano with fast lap times and consistent performances.
Race Sunday starts with the 20-lap Moto3 race at 11:00, followed by the 22-lap Moto2 race at 12:15.
