Agius grabs top 4 result, Gonzalez maintains championship lead with P9

The LIQUI MOLY Dynavolt Intact GP Team celebrated a strong points-scoring result with riders Senna Agius and Manuel Gonzalez at the eighth race of the season at the MotorLand Aragón Circuit. Agius finished fourth, Gonzalez secured ninth place - both riders collected valuable championship points and are looking forward with confidence to the next opportunity to score points in Mugello from 20 to 22 June.

The 19-year-old Australian Senna Agius used MotorLand Aragon as a stage for another top result. From 13th on the grid, last year's Moto2 rookie made an impressive start and improved to seventh place in the first few laps. As the race progressed, he fought his way up to fourth place, impressively underlining his strong pace. With this performance, Agius once again demonstrated his potential and intends to continue this form at the upcoming race in Mugello.

Manuel Gonzalez demonstrated an impressive comeback on home soil. The 22-year-old stormed through the dense field of riders from 18th on the grid and finished the race in ninth place! The five-kilometre circuit in Aragon, with its long back straight and demanding downhill sections, placed high demands on both rider and machine. Gonzalez fought numerous duels, was in seventh place at the start of the last lap and had to admit defeat to the attacks of Joe Roberts and Marcos Ramirez at the end. In ninth place, the Spaniard remained the world championship leader and now shares the lead in the standings with Aron Canet.

"I'm happy with that. Starting from P12 on the grid made it difficult to catch up. But I really wanted to be on the podium today, but P4 at the end of a weekend where we suffered quite a bit makes the result nicer. We focused on our pace all weekend to be in the best spot on Sunday, which we showed today. I'm really proud of the guys because we stayed calm. To be honest, I did my best today to overtake Aron Canet and catch up fourth place in the end. So, I'm very happy with what we achieved to say the least. Now we go to Barcelona for a test where we will do a lot of work to understand how we can improve for the next races. But until then I'm really happy, we're on the right track."

Moto2 World Championship 2025 - P1 - 118 Points

"It was a super tough race because starting from P18 at this track is really not a good position because you lose a lot of time overtaking on this track. So, it started with me struggling in the first laps and then I started to overtake other riders. The good thing is that I had a good pace in the middle of the race. I felt very comfortable with the bike, but I was pushing the front tyre a bit too hard, which cost me dearly in the last laps. I had problems with stopping the bike and corner speed. I also almost crashed once in the last corner when another rider pushed me to the outside. But we finished the race with a good recovery. That's really positive and we're still in first place in the overall standings. That gives us confidence for the next race. Mugello is a track I really like, and I think we can go for the top there."

"First of all, I would like to congratulate David on his victory today! It was also his first win; he really did a great job. We are also very happy for the whole Moto3 team, they really deserve this success. As for the Moto2 race, it wasn't easy due to the starting positions of our guys. But both did very well. Senna fought his way forward and I think that with a better grid position he could even have been on the podium. Nevertheless, he got the maximum out of the race and we are very satisfied."

"It was no different for Manu, who also fought his way forward bit by bit. Towards the end of the race, he was unable to continue because his front tyre was gone due to the many overtaking manoeuvres he had made. So, he tried everything to somehow finish the race. The last two laps were extremely difficult for him. But we are also happy to take the points for ninth place, thanks to which he remains at the top of the overall standings, while Senna has stabilized. That's the most important thing. Now we look ahead to Mugello, but so far, we are absolutely satisfied."
