Texas rodeo at the legendary COTA: next touchstone
Just one week after a demanding Brazilian Grand Prix for the entire team, Austin's track presents the next challenge for the Moto2 and Moto3 teams of LIQUI MOLY Dynavolt Intact GP.
With a length of nearly 6 kilometers and 20 turns along a lap, the Circuit of The Americas (COTA for short), located just outside of Austin, Texas, presents an exciting challenge for every rider.
Following Manuel Gonzalez’s third place last Sunday in Brazil, the Moto2 squad heads into this season's round three with renewed confidence. Unfortunately, his teammate Senna Agius failed to score any points in Goiânia. However, the ambitious Australian rider and his crew will do everything in their power to get back on track for success at the longest track on the calendar.
In Moto3, the team had already been without David Muñoz in Brazil. But things got even worse: David Almansa also injured his left elbow in a race crash. The 20-year-old Spanish rider has since returned home, where he is scheduled to undergo surgery on Thursday at the Hospital Universitari de Deu de Mar in Barcelona.
Marcos Uriarte was immediately signed as a replacement and brings a wealth of experience from several start in Moto3 World Championship. The name Uriarte is no stranger to LIQUI MOLY Dynavolt Intact GP, as Marcos’ cousin Brian stepped in for David Muñoz last October in Australia and Malaysia. Marcos Uriarte comes from the JuniorGP series and the Red Bull Rookies Cup.
