Hungarian premiere with substitute rider: Sergio Garcia steps in for Senna Agius

The 14th race of the season takes the LIQUI MOLY Dynavolt Intact GP Team to unfamiliar territory: the Balaton Park Circuit. The modern facility near the famous Lake Balaton marks the return of the Motorcycle World Championship to Hungary – for the first time in 33 years. This is a real highlight for the German racing team, but it will have to take place without Senna Agius, as the Australian has to take a break after his serious crash in Austria and will be replaced by Spaniard Sergio Garcia.

The MotoGP paddock can look forward to a brand new track at the Balaton Park Circuit. Opened in 2023, the facility is located just 85 kilometres from Budapest and is already considered Hungary's new motorsport destination. The 4.08km track with its 17 corners – including 10 left-handers and 7 right-handers – combines flowing sections with demanding braking points, promising an exciting race weekend.

Unfortunately, Senna Agius had to make the difficult decision to take a break after his serious crash at the Austrian Grand Prix in order to fully recover before Barcelona. The talented Spaniard Sergio Garcia will therefore take over the Australian's Kalex for the weekend in Hungary. The 22-year-old has already impressed with strong performances in the Moto2 World Championship and was one of the title contenders in 2024. For Garcia, joining the Intact GP team is an additional opportunity to show his form on new equipment. The entire Intact GP team wishes Senna Agius all the best and a speedy recovery.

Manuel Gonzalez, on the other hand, is looking to make amends at Balaton after his bitter retirement at the Red Bull Ring. Although he only lost six points to his closest rival Aron Canet, the 23-year-old does not want to let his World Championship lead slip any further. From the start, Gonzalez will be fully focused on the new stop-and-go track in order to continue to claim the top spot.

David Muñoz and Moto3 rookie Guido Pini are highly motivated ahead of the Hungarian Grand Prix. While Muñoz once again impressed with his determination in last weekend's race in Austria, Pini wants to continue building his confidence and consistently progressing on his learning curve. With the experience and support of their crews, the step into the unknown should be a successful one. Intact GP is convinced that both youngsters have the potential to quickly adapt and secure valuable World Championship points.
