Local hero Muñoz starts from frontrow, Pini in 12th place
In qualifying for the Spanish Grand Prix at the Circuito de Jerez - Ángel Nieto, LIQUI MOLY Dynavolt Intact GP rider David Muñoz secured an excellent third place on the front row for the fifth round of the 2025 World Championship. Team-mate and Moto3 rookie Guido Pini will start the first European race of the season from position twelve on the fourth row.
This fifth race weekend got off to a challenging start for local hero David Muñoz: a technical problem slowed him down on Friday. Nevertheless, the Andalusian finished sixth in the decisive practice session and made it straight into the 15-minute Q2 on Saturday. There, the 18-year-old took the lead at times and finally secured himself a remarkable third place on the grid for the 19-lap race on the traditional 4.42-kilometre circuit in southern Spain.
Guido Pini also put in a strong performance. Although Jerez is regarded as a track where many riders are fast right from the start, the 17-year-old Italian comfortably made it into Q2. He continued to improve significantly in the second free practice session on Saturday morning. With seventh place in FP2, the Moto3 rookie went into qualifying and secured the twelfth place on the fourth row of the grid with a time of 1'44.921.
The LIQUI MOLY Dynavolt Intact GP team will start the race on Sunday at 11:00 am (CEST) with great ambition and will once again be aiming for top positions and important championship points.
