Courage, bad luck and strong points: Intact GP shows fighting spirit and finishes in the top ten in Malaysia

In the chaotic race in Malaysia, the LIQUI MOLY Dynavolt Intact GP Team experienced a rollercoaster of emotions: Guido Pini fought for second place until the penultimate lap, but crashed shortly before the finish line and ultimately came in sixteenth. Brian Uriarte, on the other hand, put in an impressive performance and secured a strong result for the German racing team with ninth place.

After a violent collision between Noah Dettwiler and Jose Antonio Rueda on the sighting lap, the start of the Moto3 race had to be cancelled and the distance shortened from 15 to ten laps.

After a pretty long delay, Guido Pini finally rolled to the start of the sprint race, immediately established himself in the leading group and pushed uncompromisingly in tropical conditions. By lap four, the young Italian was already on course for a podium finish. In thrilling duels, the 17-year-old held on to second place until shortly before the end – when a slip in turn 15 and contact with Adrian Fernandez ended his podium dreams.
Despite the incident, Pini showed great fighting spirit: he immediately got his KTM back on its wheels and continued to battle, hoping to still score some points. After such a spirited performance, 16th place is a bitter pill to swallow, but it shows once again that the Moto3 rookie has finally arrived in the World Championship and has the potential to regularly fight for top positions.

Brian Uriarte also delivered an impressive performance. The 17-year-old Spaniard, who was competing in only his second World Championship race, mixed it up confidently from the start and fought his way into the top 10 by the middle of the race. Lap after lap, he set off fireworks and was in a sensational fifth place on the final lap before losing a few positions. Nevertheless, ninth place is an excellent result and a strong recommendation for upcoming races.

In just two weeks, Pini and Uriarte will have their next chance to attack again and fight for top positions at the Portuguese Grand Prix (7th – 9th of November).

The entire LIQUI MOLY Dynavolt Intact GP Team's thoughts are with the two injured riders, Noah Dettwiler and Jose Antonio Rueda, and they wish them a speedy recovery.
