Gonzalez with row 3 start & Agius wants to fight his way into the points from P17
Manuel Gonzalez will start the Italian Grand Prix from the third row after being handed a grid penalty. His team-mate Senna Agius from the LIQUI MOLY Dynavolt Intact GP Team will start from 17th on the grid.
For his start at the ninth round of the season in Italy, Manuel Gonzalez will have to settle for eighth position on the third row of the grid. His qualifying time of 1'49.917 was only 0.172 seconds behind pole setter Diogo Moreira, but a subsequent grid penalty for obstructing an opponent on the straight relegated Gonzalez to eighth position. The Spaniard had previously dominated both free practice sessions with fastest times and finished third in Practice on Friday afternoon. Thanks to his strong rhythm, the World Championship leader is confident about the 19-lap race starting at 12:15 and will want to get the maximum out of it.
The ninth race weekend was a little more difficult for Senna Agius. The 20-year-old Australian did not feel completely comfortable, but after seventh place in the first free practice session and P12 in the essential Practice session he made it straight through to Q2. There he finally secured 17th place on the grid in row six. Until the start of the race, Agius and his team are working hard on further improvements and hope to find the decisive step towards a consistently strong pace.
