Dynavolt Intact GP secures runner-up spot in world championship after scoring points in Portimão

At the grand season finale of the MotoE World Championship at the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve, Hector Garzo and Lorenzo Baldassarri fought hard for the last World Championship points. Thanks to their performances, the German racing team secured the runner-up spot in the world championship: Garzo finished twelfth and fifth, while his Italian teammate took a strong fifth place in race one but unfortunately crashed in a close battle for position in race two after setting several fastest laps.

It was the last appearance of the all-electric motorcycle world championship on the changeable Portuguese Algarve coast for the time being. Although there was nothing at stake for last year's world champion Hector Garzo personally, the ambitious Spaniard wanted to secure the runner-up title in the team standings together with his crew. After a turbulent start, Garzo lost a few positions in the first race, but fought his way back into the points within six laps and finished twelfth. The second race went much better: after just a few laps, Garzo was in a direct duel with his teammate and finished his last MotoE race in a strong fifth place and ninth in the overall standings. After three years with the Dynavolt Intact GP Team, today was an emotional farewell to the charismatic Spaniard, with whom the Intact GP team celebrated an unforgettable world championship title a year ago!

Lorenzo Baldassarri also had important points at stake at the season finale, but MotoE races are known for their unpredictable nature. In race one, 'Balda' rode directly behind the leading group and secured eleven points with fifth place. In the second race, he was once again on course for a top result before crashing out on lap five after an unfortunate collision. Although the Italian was uninjured, a top finish would have been within reach after several fastest race laps. Baldassarri finishes his rookie season in sixth place overall and made a decisive contribution to the team's success.

After seven successful years in MotoE, with two rider titles, victory in the team world championship last year and, last but not least, the vice world championship title for us this year, the entire Dynavolt Intact GP team would like to thank all team members, all our riders, partners, sponsors and supporters, and congratulate Alessandro Zaccone on winning the 2025 title.

"The weekend began on Friday with difficult conditions, which we struggled a bit with. But today we tried to handle the situation as best we could with all our experience. It was certainly a very emotional day for all of us, but we still gave our best at every moment. In Race 1 we were unlucky as we lost a footrest in turn three. From that point on, I tried to deal with it as best I could. In the second race, I more or less achieved my goal, starting from P12 on the grid and finishing in 6th. I think that's a pretty good result at the end of what has been a really difficult season for us. But that's less important. What's much more important right now is to thank the entire Dynavolt Intact GP Team for the three years they have given me. I will carry this part of my career with me for the rest of my life. Thank you for everything, and I hope that the future will bring us together again."

"I think it's a shame that we have to end the season with a crash, because we've made very consistent progress throughout the year. As the results show, we've scored points in every race and mostly finished between fifth and sixth place. Only this afternoon we crash once. Until then, however, it had been an incredible race. We were well on our way to winning the last race of the season because we had the speed to do so and could have held our own at the front. I was able to overtake very well and work my way up to the front. Unfortunately, another rider made a very ill-advised move when I was on the inside of that corner and opened the throttle. At that moment, he hit me and I couldn't avoid the crash. Nevertheless, we have to be satisfied because we had a very good season as a team. A big thank you to the entire team and all our partners and supporters."

"The last MotoE race weekend didn't start so well for us, as we made a mistake in pre-qualifying. As a result, both our riders had to start from far back today. Nevertheless, both did a great job and put in a first-class performance in both races. Unfortunately, Lorenzo lost a place in the top three in the championship because someone who is known for his unfair actions got in his way again. But we can't change that now, we just have to accept it. However, Balda set the fastest lap of the race, which says it all. Even from his starting position, a lot would have been possible today. That's why it's doubly bitter to lose a world championship medal through no fault of our own. Ultimately, only the positive aspects count, and that is that we were once again very competitive with our two riders. Even though this was not the hoped-for conclusion to seven years of MotoE, we want to remember the positive and beautiful moments. We won the rider's title twice and were actually in the top three every year. So, we can look back on seven successful years. I would therefore like to thank everyone involved, from the sponsors to the team to our riders. It has always been a lot of fun. After all, we won the runner-up title in the team standings this year. This achievement says everything about the quality of the team. Becoming vice world champions is no small feat, and I think we deserved it. Thank you, guys, you were great again this year!"
