Manuel Gonzalez is Moto2 Vice World Champion of 2025
A bitter battle for the world championship title, which lasted until the grand finale in Valencia, finally ended with the runner-up title for long-time favourite Manuel Gonzalez. The German racing team LIQUI MOLY Dynavolt Intact GP also secured the team runner-up title thanks to the strong performances of both riders. Senna Agius rounded off the successful end to the season with 7th place in the final race.
Over 22 intense race weekends, Manuel Gonzalez consistently maintained his position at the top of the riders' standings. An impressive nine podium finishes, including four victories and seven pole positions, underline the Spaniard's impressive season record. Although his chances of winning the title were slim before the season finale in late summer conditions in Valencia, trailing by 24 points, the 23-year-old fought hard in front of his home crowd to achieve the best possible result. After a solid start from fifth position, Gonzalez held sixth place for a long time before struggling with declining grip in the middle of the race. He gradually lost ground, went wide several times and finally had to return to the pits four laps before the end. With a new tyre, he rejoined the race to finish his extremely successful season on the track and together with his fans. With a total of 257 points and a deficit of 29 points behind Diogo Moreira – whom the team congratulates on winning the title – "ManuGasss" contributed significantly to the team's success and the runner-up title in the team standings. Manuel Gonzalez and the LIQUI MOLY Dynavolt Intact GP Team will continue to fight for the world championship title together in 2026.
Senna Agius had an equally impressive season. The young Australian shone in his second Moto2 year with two wins and two third places. But even beyond his visible successes, the 20-year-old impressed with his steady development and growing experience in handling his Kalex. With these insights, he wants to fight for top places even more often in the 2026 season. The tenth-placed rider in the world championship confirmed his progress at the season finale in Valencia: after a strong qualifying session and third place on the front row of the grid, Agius fought for a long time for a place in the top three, but also lost grip during the race, eventually crossing the finish line in eighth place and being promoted to seventh after the race due to a time penalty for Filip Salac.
The LIQUI MOLY Dynavolt Intact GP Team bids farewell to the Circuit Ricardo Tormo as team vice-world champions of the 2025 season – the most successful season in the team's history. The German racing team would like to thank the entire team for their tireless efforts, fighting spirit and continuous development throughout the season. Special thanks also go to the sponsors and partners whose loyal support made this historic team success possible.
