Pini ends rookie season with a brilliant fourth place in Valencia – O'Gorman scores points in 13th place

n Guido Pini's last race with the LIQUI MOLY Dynavolt Intact GP Team, the Italian demonstrated the enormous progress the Moto3 rookie has made in his first World Championship season with an impressive comeback from 17th on the grid to finish fourth. Substitute rider Casey O'Gorman also had a strong race, finishing 13th and once again in the points.

After a mixed qualifying session, team rookie Guido Pini started from the sixth row and laid the foundation for a strong result with a furious opening lap: after just a few corners, the 17-year-old was already in tenth place. But Pini wasn't satisfied yet – he fought his way into the leading group and kept up with them for most of the 20-lap race. In an exciting final phase, he made several small attacks and launched his final assault in the last corner, which ultimately earned him an excellent fourth place. With 13 more World Championship points, the rider with the number 94 scored a total of 111 points in his debut season. A podium finish, a pole position and two further front row starts underline his impressive record before he now continues his journey.

Casey O'Gorman also delivered a respectable performance. The Irishman started from P15, mastered the turbulent early stages with confidence and continuously made up positions. After several position changes in the midfield, he finally crossed the finish line in thirteenth place, earning three valuable World Championship points. The LIQUI MOLY Dynavolt Intact GP Team pays the utmost respect to the strong performances of Brian Uriarte and Casey O'Gorman – both impressed as replacement riders for David Muñoz and earning the team important points.

David Muñoz himself had an extremely impressive season until his serious crash in Indonesia. After a difficult start to the season, the Spaniard quickly found his form and finished on the podium eight times in total – with three wins, one second place and four third places. He also secured one pole position and three further front row starts. The 19-year-old fought for a place in the top three of the world championship until the very end. Due to missing the last four races, he ultimately slipped to fifth place, but he intends to fight for the title again in his second season with the Memmingen-based team.

The LIQUI MOLY Dynavolt Intact GP Team would like to thank all team members for their dedicated and tireless efforts over 22 race weekends – as well as all sponsors and supporters, without whom such a successful season, which saw the team finish fourth in the world championship, would not have been possible.

"To be honest, despite a strong comeback in the race like this, I'm not satisfied because the podium is always the goal, and today it was within reach. That's why I'm not happy, because I always want to be a little bit better until I reach first place. It was certainly a strong race, but we missed out something by a whisker. Still, we have to be satisfied. Many thanks to the entire team, because we worked really well this weekend to prepare for the race. Unfortunately, we made a mistake in the last lap of qualifying. If that hadn't happened, it would certainly have been easier with a start further up the grid. But the good thing is that we didn't make any mistakes in the race, and I finished with a good result by always riding smart. I'm happy about that. It was also important to see the checkered flag after the last few races, even if P4 isn't what I wanted. Finally, a big thank you to the entire Intact GP team for the great cooperation this year. I've definitely learned a lot for my future."

"There isn't much to say because I'm disappointed about the race. I had a good start, but then I was held up on the first lap. That meant I couldn't work my way further up the field and front group quickly pulled away. We were overtaking each other at every corner, which made it impossible to build up a good pace. Nevertheless, I would like to thank the Intact GP team for giving me the opportunity to gain my first experience at World Championship level in the last two races. I learned a lot, and it was a pleasure to work with them."

"We started the final race weekend of the season here in Valencia with a decent Friday. With fourth place for Guido and P12 for Casey, both of our rookies made it directly into Q2. Unfortunately, things didn't go so well on Saturday afternoon. Casey and Guido had to start the race from P15 and P17 on the starting grid. But we saw that both of them had significantly more potential and a higher speed for Sunday. Guido demonstrated this very impressively in the race by working his way up from his starting position to fourth place. That was a really strong performance from him. Congratulations on that. Casey also put in another good performance. He battled in a group throughout the race. However, this battle soon cost him his connection to the front group. But in the end, he prevailed in his group against competitors who were significantly higher ranked and, in his second race for us, scored points for the team again with 13th place. Many thanks to him for this performance, which he has shown in the last two races as a replacement for David Munoz."

"On the other hand, Guido has fulfilled the expectations we had of him this season. He proved that with a podium finish and another fourth place today. A big thank you to the entire team, who have done a great job throughout the season. We also would like to take this opportunity to mention David and wish him all the best for his continued recovery. We look forward to him returning to us fully fit for the first tests at the beginning of next year. What happened to him in Indonesia is a great pity, because with him we would certainly have fought for second place in the riders' standings and a top-three-position in the team standings. That's why, for the first time in three years, there is no world championship medal for the team to pick up. Fourth place is always the most thankless. With David, we had a rider with very high potential for this season. However, we also had to recognize that we still had a lot of work ahead of us. But he brought himself up to a level where he could regularly achieve podium finishes and victories in a much shorter time. That gives us hope for next season. Finally, I would like to thank everyone once again for their commitment and hard work this year! After a long season, which was also a successful one with three wins and a total of nine podium finishes, everyone deserves a break."
