Barcelona: important stop for Intact GP Juniors

The Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya hosts the JuniorGP™ series this weekend with Moto3 Junior World Championship, Moto2™ European Championship and the European Talent Cup on the grid.

Just one week after the Gran Premi de Catalunya, the young talents of arguably the world's most important junior series will be competing at the same track. The Grand Prix team from Germany’s LIQUI MOLY Intact GP achieved strong results last weekend and provided good reference data.

Lukas Tulovic is once again the biggest hope for the LIQUI MOLY Intact GP Junior Team from Allgäu. The 21-year-old Moto2 European Championship rider will travel to the third stop of the series with the maximum points after his third win of the season recently in Valencia. Tulovic is therefore once again a top contender for the race wins on Sunday.

In the JuniorGP™ Moto3 class, the circuit just outside Barcelona is uncharted territory for Jakob Rosenthaler. However, the 16-year-old from Upper Austria comes to Spain in strong form, as he showed the weekend before last at the third event of this year's Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup in Mugello, Italy. His teammate Phillip Tonn, on the other hand, can build on good track knowledge. In the European Talent Cup, young Tyrolean Niklas Kitzbichler will again try to qualify for the main race on Sunday.

The series' race calendar comprises eight events, all at modern circuits in southern Europe. The format of a race weekend remains unchanged with free practice on Thursday and Friday, followed by two 40-minute qualifying sessions per class on Saturday and the races on Sunday. On race day, as usual, there will be a live stream via the series' YouTube channel.
