Krummenacher takes MotoE debut win at Silverstone

Despite the rain, the first all-electric races at the British Grand Prix were convincing with incredibly gripping overtaking maneuvers. For the DYNAVOLT INTACT GP MotoE team, there was every reason to celebrate thanks to Randy Krummenacher's first win of the season, despite the Swiss rider crashing through no fault of his own in Race 2. Hector Garzo, for his part, put up a strong fight and, thanks to P4 and P6, was able to enjoy a total of 24 World Championship points.

Yesterday, Randy Krummenacher was still talking about the hope of taking his first win of the season. Less than 24 hours later, the Swiss rider, starting from sixth on the grid, achieved this masterpiece in the first round of the MotoE World Championship at Silverstone. In hair-raising conditions, the 33-year-old made spirited maneuvers to take the lead within just three laps, which he managed to hold until the finish line. Race number 2, on the other hand, went less smoothly, as Krummenacher was knocked out after a collision in the first corner. However, the points from his victory were enough to move him past his team-mate into fourth place in the World Championship standings.

Said teammate, Hector Garzo, put up a terrific fight with numerous rivals in race 1, in which he finally finished in fourth place after losing meters and positions on the last lap. His feeling was very good despite the extremely wet track. Unfortunately, the 25-year-old was not able to transfer this positive feeling into race 2, which is why he had to struggle a lot more when it rained again at the Silverstone Circuit. It was obvious that Garzo had a pretty strong cornering speed, but was unable to maintain that pace over the entire 5.9km track and crossed the line in sixth place after completing all six laps of the race.

There will be a chance for revenge in a fortnight's time, from 18th - 20th of August, at the Red Bull Ring in Austria.
