Konichiwa! Ohne Rast und Ruh zum Japan Grand Prix
After an eventful Indonesian GP, the German LIQUI MOLY Husqvarna Intact GP Team is ready for the sixteenth round of the season, which will be held from 4th to 6th October at the historic Motegi Circuit in Japan, where both Collin Veijer and Senna Agius will be hoping for revenge, while the latest points scorers, Tatsuki Suzuki and Darryn Binder, will be looking to celebrate their next successes.
With a total length of 4.8 kilometres and a track width of 15 metres, the famous Twin-Ring Motegi, located almost 150 kilometres from the Japanese capital Tokyo, offers an exciting challenge with its varied combination of 8 right and 6 left turns - one that Collin Veijer is particularly looking forward to. After his strong and unfortunately unrewarded lead in the Mandalika race, the 19-year-old Dutchman is now aiming to make amends and at the same time prevent a premature World Championship decision. From now on, every point counts for the current world championship fourth, who is 107 points behind the leader David Alonso. Tatsuki Suzuki can also be expected to help again, after the Japanese rider's recent progress led to seven points-scoring results in a row. Of course, the local hero is also pursuing his own goals, as he wants to put on a great show for his home fans.
Darryn Binder and Senna Agius also want to get in on the said show, but this time in Moto2, where another thrilling showdown is expected in the 19-lap race on Sunday at 05:15 (CEST). Last year, the 26-year-old Binder snatched tenth place in Japan, but after his best result of the season so far (P5) in Indonesia, the South African is aiming higher.
Senna Agius is also full of eagerness, having already started in Japan in 2023 as a substitute rider for Lukas Tulovic and whose strong pace was unfortunately not crowned with success last weekend after he crashed in a collision in the scramble at the start of the first lap. Revenge is what this year's Moto2 rookie is after ahead of the 16th round of the World Championship before travelling to his home Grand Prix in Australia.
The LIQUI MOLY Husqvarna Intact GP Team is optimistic about the upcoming race weekend and is looking forward to the support of the passionate fans on site and those who will be watching the action live on their screens at home in the very early hours of the morning due to the seven-hour time difference to Japan.
