Marcos Uriarte to replace David Muñoz at Czech Grand Prix

LIQUI MOLY Dynavolt Intact GP’s Moto2 and Moto3 teams, which have been performing in excellent form recently, are aiming for further success at this weekend's round nine of the season. However, David Muñoz, one of the four standout riders, will be absent due to an injury sustained in a crash in Hungary.

The series' round in Brno, the capital of South Moravia, returned to the World Championship’s calendar a year ago, much to the delight of many. Extensive modifications, most notably the complete resurfacing of the track, were key factors for this. The Automotodrom Brno's track is considered one of the most beautiful on the current calendar. Beautifully adapted to the contours of the rolling countryside on the outskirts of Brno, the Czech Republic’s World Championship round has always enjoyed great popularity.

In front of what are expected to be packed grandstands, the Moto2 stars of LIQUI MOLY Dynavolt Intact GP aim to deliver more outstanding performances. World Championship leader Manuel Gonzalez heads to Brno on the back of a perfect hattrick of victories. Following his masterclass wins in Barcelona, Mugello, and at the Balaton Park Circuit, the 23-year-old Spanish rider is eager to further extend his current dominance in the highly competitive Moto2 class. Teammate Senna Agius heads to the Czech Republic as the fourth-placed rider in the World Championship standings after finishing third in Hungary.

Unfortunately, LIQUI MOLY Dynavolt Intact GP’s Moto3 outfit will be competing in Brno with only half of its usual rider lineup. Despite David Almansa’s second-place finish in Hungary, the incident of David Muñoz weighs heavily on the team. Muñoz crashed during the race while in a promising position, sustaining injuries to his left pelvis and left arm. Marcos Uriarte will take over the team’s second KTM from the 20-year-old rider from Seville in Brno. This isn’t the first time for the team and Uriarte that they will work together, as the 21-year-old Spaniard was already called in as a substitute in Austin earlier this season. Almansa’s pole position and second-place finish in Hungary have impressively demonstrated that he is among the fastest riders in the field. He will aim for another top result in Brno to join the battle for podium positions.
