Let the show return to action: Silverstone kicks off the second half of the season
This weekend's British Grand Prix marks the start of the decisive stage of the World Championship. LIQUI MOLY Dynavolt Intact GP heading to England with renewed energy and is introducing a new face to Moto3 in the person of David Gonzalez.
The Silverstone Circuit, located about an hour and a half’s drive north of London, has a long history. The legendary track is often referred to as «The Home of British Racing». With the exception of a hiatus lasting more than ten years, the British round of the World Championship has been held in Northamptonshire since 1977. The track is the longest on the calendar with 5.9 kilometers, and is also very wide with 15 metres.
At the final race weekend before the summer break at the Sachsenring, LIQUI MOLY Dynavolt Intact GP’s Moto2 team has established itself at the top of the championship standings. Spanish rider Manuel Gonzalez heads into the second half of the season as the leader with a comfortable points advantage. Teammate Senna Agius is in third place in the overall standings, within striking distance to the leaders. Last year, the young Australian rider celebrated his first Grand Prix victory in Silverstone.
In the Moto3 outfit of LIQUI MOLY Dynavolt Intact GP, 18-year-old Spaniard David Gonzalez will make his World Championship debut this weekend. Gonzalez, currently fifth in the Red Bull Rookies Cup, is replacing injured David Muñoz. Meanwhile, the rest of the team is looking forward to the return of David Almansa, who had to miss the team’s home Grand Prix at the Sachsenring in mid-July due to illness.
