Second and fourth row start respectively for Gonzalez and Agius at Silverstone

For the start of the season’s second half, the LIQUI MOLY Dynavolt Intact GP Moto2 team made a strong impression during both day of practice in midsummer conditions in England, a performance underscored by Manuel Gonzalez’s fourth-place finish in qualifying. Teammate Senna Agius finished in eleventh place, falling slightly short of his expectations. 
 
For the teams and riders of the Moto2 World Championship, this weekend’s British Grand Prix at the historic Silverstone circuit marks the end of a three-week summer break. Manuel Gonzalez and Senna Agius have seamlessly carried over their strong form from the first half of the season.
 
World Championship leader Manuel Gonzalez got off to an impressive start at round twelf of the season: On Friday morning, he posted the fastest time and finished third in Practice Session. In FP2, he focused on preparing for the race and making some adjustments to his riding style. In the end, the 24-year-old from Madrid ended up in seventh place. In qualifying, Gonzalez went his own way and ultimately secured fourth spot on the starting grid.
 
Senna Agius also made it through the summer break without losing any speed. He confirmed this by posting second-fastest lap time on Friday. After finishing 13th on Saturday morning, the 21-year-old Australian was feeling confident heading into qualifying. However, Q2 had to be interrupted following an incident. Fortunately, the riders involved were unharmed. After the session resumed, Agius was unable to improve his lap time and will therefore start Sunday’s race from P11th on row four.

Moto2 class will kick off race day in England at 11:15 a.m. local time. In Central European Time, the race will therefore start at 12:15 p.m., as usual.
