Next Stop: Lombok – Full throttle under palm trees
The LIQUI MOLY Dynavolt Intact GP Moto2 and Moto3 teams are raring to go for the round 17 of this year’s FIM MotoGP™ World Championship, which takes place this weekend at the enchanting Indonesian island of Lombok.
Lombok, a neighbouring island of the more known Bali, is part of the Lesser Sunda Islands and has long been considered an insider’s secret among surfers. Since the completion of the Mandalika International Circuit five years ago, tourism at this small island east of Bali has become an increasingly important economic sector. The racetrack itself offers breathtaking views of the tropical landscape south of the equator. One lap is 4.3 kilometers long and includes 17 turns. A Grand Prix was held there for the first time in 2022, and the island has retained its rural charm.
After the turbulent Japanese Grand Prix, LIQUI MOLY Dynavolt Intact GP’s Moto2 team is already looking ahead again. Manuel Gonzalez hopes to solidify his World Championship lead with a strong result at Lombok this Sunday and extend his lead over his closest rival, Izan Guevara. Senna Agius is also determined to fight for the top positions again in Indonesia and translate his potential into a strong race result.
In the team’s Moto3 outfit, David Almansa is practically racing from one success to the next, and thanks to his top form, he’s keeping the championship open, even though current leader Maximo Quiles holds a commanding 127-point lead. On the other hand, it’s also a joy to see teammate David Muñoz steadily recovering from his injury and becoming increasingly competitive aboard his bike. Therefore, there is once again to expect a top performance from both riders this weekend.
