Garzo & Krummenacher score points in sunny and rainy Mugello
Two races, two completely different conditions and yet both DYNAVOLT INTACT GP MotoE riders managed to score points in the two sprint races and established themselves in the World Championship rankings.
When the lights went out at midday for the first race, it was mainly Hector Garzo who made up ground within a few corners, moving up from P9 to P4. Teammate Randy Krummenacher lost a few positions in the start battle but fought his way back and was finally in a direct duel with his stable mate. The gap to the top 3 was over two seconds at times, which is why the INTACT GP duo concentrated on each other. With a courageous maneuver on the last metres, 25-year-old Garzo finally moved up to the fourth place and Krummenacher followed in fifth.
Then, shortly before the grid for race 2 was set, dark rain clouds moved over the Italian track and caused a delay in the start with heavy downpours and, in the end, a crash by Casadei. But in the race, which was shortened to six laps, both "Krummi" and Garzo fought in the thundering spray to chase the leading group and eventually crossed the finish line in sixth and seventh place.
Even though there were no podium finishes in round two of the MotoE World Championship, the points gained help to consolidate positions in the championship. And in just one week, the home race of the German racing team is on the agenda, because then the Sachsenring invites to the next points hunt.
