Lukas Tulovic continues story of success in Valencia

Whilst the 21-year-old celebrated his third win of the season in the Moto2 race, the three young riders Phillip Tonn, Jakob Rosenthaler and Niklas Kitzbichler showed encouraging progress.

The Grand Prix circuit of Valencia was the second stop of the JuniorGP series this weekend. The young riders in the Moto3 class and the European Talent Cup had two races to contest on Sunday. In Moto2™ European Championship, only one race was on the schedule.

In beautiful and hot weather, the talents of the German LIQUI MOLY Intact GP Junior Team once again delivered a show of talent. The more experienced of the quartet, Lukas Tulovic from Eberbach, seamlessly continued his strong performance from the season opener two weeks ago in Estoril. With a fabulous lap time in qualifying practice one, Tulovic again stormed to pole position and also played on his experience in the race to outdo the surprisingly strong riding Spaniard Alex Escrig.

In the very high-quality Moto3 Junior World Championship, Phillip Tonn and Jakob Rosenthaler were once again on the grid. 16-year-old Tonn from Mattstedt set a first highlight in the still young season with P16 in qualifying. With this performance the ambitious athlete wanted to show off further in the first race on Sunday morning. Unfortunately, he once again paid for his aggressiveness with a crash, which he fortunately escaped unhurt. Jakob Rosenthaler from Upper Austria struggled with slight health problems throughout the weekend. Nevertheless, he ended up in the top 20 again in the first heat.

Even though for Tyrolean Niklas Kitzbichler second ETC race weekend came to an early end after Saturday afternoon’s «Last Chance Race», positive steps could be seen in terms of his approach and continuous improvements in his lap times.

The series with JuniorGP™ Moto3, Moto2 European Championship and ETC will continue in just under three weeks with the third meeting of the season in Barcelona.
