The LIQUI MOLY Intact GP team wants to build upon their recent Jerez successes

In just a few days, the Bugatti Grand Prix Race Circuit will set the stage for the SHARK Grand Prix de France, the seventh stop on the 2022 World Championship calendar. The two LIQUI MOLY Intact GP Team riders, Marcel Schrötter and Jeremy Alcoba want to successfully continue the upward trend at Le Mans from the Jerez GP two weeks ago.

The traditional 4.2 km French circuit may not be one of Marcel Schrötter's favorites, but last year the Bavarian brought home a top six result and his recent successes in Portugal and Spain also give him every reason to start the seventh of a total of 21 races this season on a positive note. The main task in preparation for Sunday's 25-lap race will be to improve his performance in qualifying, as this would allow the 29-year-old to fully exploit his strong potential and significantly increase his chances of finishing on the podium.

Intact GP youngster Jeremy Alcoba impressed once more with his pace at his home Grand Prix in Jerez de la Frontera, Andalusia, where he again showed an incredible recovery and strengthened his lead in the Rookie of the Year ranking with P12. The 20-year-old hopes his learning curve with the Kalex machine continues to go uphill and that he can erase his memories of a difficult 2021 France weekend with new success.

Moto2 World Championship 2022 - P6 - 47 Points

"As always, I'm highly motivated and looking forward to Le Mans, even though it's never been one of my favourite tracks. But in recent years I've been getting more and more comfortable, so I'm confident. The weather seems to be getting pretty good at the moment, too, so I'm all the more excited to get back to work. In Jerez, a week ago, we really showed a great race, so this upward trend is additionally motivating. I hope it continues with full power forward like this in all the practices. We need to push with concentration and improve qualifying first and foremost. I'll try to do my thing, give everything on every lap and rely less on tactics. I'm really hoping that we can get a solid grid position in the 15 minutes to ultimately have a real chance in the race to show our potential and finish in the top 5 or even on the podium. It would also be important, purely in terms of consistency of results, to continue at this level. If we finish permanently in the top 5 or at least the top 6, we'll take a lot of important points with us. The world championship is now relatively open, so it's all the more important to be consistent and make better use of practice and qualifying sessions so that we can fight at the front of the field in the race. That's ultimately what we want and what's the most fun."

Moto2 World Championship 2022 - P14 - 20 Points

"As always, I am super motivated and can't wait to keep working on the bike, understand it more, and improve my riding as we are slowly getting closer. That's what we are working so hard on, especially because our weakest points are still Saturdays. For some reason, it is difficult for us to take advantage of the fast laps in order to qualify better and to start further ahead. This would make our race so much easier, especially because I am usually so strong during the race that I can overtake many riders but if I wouldn't have to waste my time fighting them, making my way forward, I could really show my potential and have a great race on Sunday. Le Mans is a circuit that I like. It's quite technical at some points and not all memories are good ones but we will try to rewrite this story and have a great weekend."
