The Intact GP team is opening a new chapter in its ten-year existence, with the aim of celebrating success at the top of motorcycle racing. With Husqvarna Motorcycles, one of the most respected European motorcycle brands, LIQUI MOLY Husqvarna Intact GP is born. The team's name will apply to both the intermediate category and Moto3.
The new rider pairing in Moto2, consisting of Darryn Binder and Lukas Tulovic, will be part of this milestone. Binder, who is only 24 years old, has already won in Moto3 and is currently doing a great job in the MotoGP class after a surprise promotion from Moto3 straight to the premier class at the end of 2021. The South African is known for his determination and fighting spirit and although he will be a debutant in Moto2, he has plenty of experience to draw on from his eight-year GP career to date. Tulovic is the newly crowned Moto2 European champion of the LIQUI MOLY Intact GP Junior Team. The logical next step now takes him into the Moto2 World Championship. The 22-year-old German already brings World Championship experience with him and has featured in the hard-fought MotoE World Cup over the past three years, where he secured victory in Austria in 2021.
Together with Husqvarna, Intact GP will expand its commitment to the Moto3 class with the already existing and very successful crew around Peter Öttl. The future rider line-up there will be Ayumu Sasaki and the young Dutchman Collin Veijer. Sasaki, 22, has had an outstanding 2022 season so far, with wins in the Netherlands and Austria and six other podiums. The Japanese rider is fighting for the top three spots in the Moto3 championship standings. Veijer, 17, has won three races in the 2022 Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup and is still in contention for the title. The Dutch youngster will be a Grand Prix rookie in 2023, but hopes to learn from the years of experience of his new team and stablemate.
The LIQUI MOLY Husqvarna Intact GP team is looking forward to bringing this new chapter to life in just a few weeks. With increased forces, the growing team will fight to assert itself as a top contender in two World Championship classes.
