Hector Garzo & Lukas Tulovic on a joint mission at the MotoE season opener in Portimao

The Dynavolt Intact GP MotoE Team is entering the 2024 season with Hector Garzo and Lukas Tulovic. The German-Spanish duo are ready for the thrilling 16-race season, which starts in the new competition year this weekend in Portimao as early as never before in the history of the all-electric class.

In the early years of its still young history, the start of the MotoE season was always a little later in the year, but in 2024, MotoE will follow suit at the second round of the Motorcycle World Championship and thus open the battle for the MotoE World Championship title, for which no fewer than 18 strong rivals will be competing.

First and foremost is last year's fourth-placed rider, Hector Garzo, whose track record is already impressive thanks to a victory at the Sachsenring and a further six podium finishes. The 25-year-old is aiming for more top results after setting the fastest lap in the mainly rainy pre-season test at the end of February on the same circuit that is now setting the stage for the season opener. The Autódromo Internacional do Algarve, which is often referred to as the harbour town of the same name, Portimao, is one of the most spectacular circuits on the calendar with its 4.59 km total length and gradients of up to 12 percent.

One rider who is also very familiar with the Intact GP Team is looking forward to this challenge: Lukas Tulovic. The German contested the 2023 Moto2 World Championship for the Memmingen-based racing team. After being introduced as the new starter in the MotoE squad in November, the rider with the number 3 is now looking forward to continuing his work and adapting quickly after the first informative MotoE test. The likeable "Tulo" is no stranger to the MotoE category, but in his first MotoE years he was still riding Energica Ego Corsa bikes, whereas since last season the Ducati V21L machines took over.

Together, the duo want to fight for nothing less than the rider and team world championships and hope to be among the front runners right from the start. A final  rehearsal awaits the MotoE class on Thursday, as three 15-minute test sessions will give everyone another chance to get in the mood for the tight weekend programme. The official race action then begins on Friday with the practice and qualifying sessions, starting at 18:00 (CET), followed by the first two races of the season on Saturday at 13:15 and 17:10 German time.
