Things going on for Intact GP Juniors in Aragón
The long summer break in what is probably the most important junior series ends this weekend. German’s LIQUI MOLY Intact GP Junior Team will travel to the Spanish circuit MotorLand Aargón with its full squad.
While the JuniorGP™ Moto3 class made a guest appearance at the San Marino Grand Prix at the beginning of September, the summer break for the Moto2™ European Championship and the European Talent Cup lasted just under three months. During this long race-free period, Moto2 standings leader Lukas Tulovic worked hard on his fitness and certainly he may have practiced many kilometres on all kinds of bikes. Ahead of the last three races of the season (2x Aragón, 1x Valencia), Tulovic has a 40-point gap over his first pursuer, Spain's Alex Escrig, in the overall standings. The 22-year-old from Eberbach has so far claimed four victories and just as many second places.
The team’s Moto3 crew also travels to the penultimate stop of the series in the outback of the Spanish eastern coastline with a clear uphill trend. After 16-year-old Jakob Rosenthaler scored his first point at Portimao before the summer break, he even made it into the top ten at Misano whereas his mate Phillip Tonn, on the other hand, had more trouble back then, but comes to the next event in stronger shape and well prepared.
As at the event in Portimao, Portugal, last July 15-year-old Upper Austrian Leo Rammerstorfer will once again ride the team's ETC race bike. Back then, Rammerstorfer delivered a very impressive debut in what was a completely new environment for him. He will also race for the Intact GP team at the season’s finale in Valencia in three weeks. In the meantime, Rammerstorfer has been fighting for the championship in International German Motorcycle Championship, Supersport300 class, right up to the last race and in the end, he won the runner-up title.
On race day, as usual, there will be a live stream via the series' YouTube channel.
