Important points taken home from Barcelona

The Dynavolt Intact GP MotoE team around Hector Garzo and Lukas Tulovic left the Barcelona Grand Prix after two challenging races with a fourth and fifth place for the Spaniard, while the German had to put up with a crash in the first race before bagging ten points in race 2 with sixth place.

Local hero Hector Garzo went into his home Grand Prix with high ambitions, but the two 7-lap sprints were anything but a walk in the park on this sunny Saturday in Montmelo. From sixth on the grid, the Spaniard got away very well in the first race and lined up in third position on the first corner. As the race progressed, Garzo finally had to admit defeat, but still took home 13 valuable championship points with P4. The next chance to climb the podium in front of his home fans came in race two, but this time the start was not as successful as before and the 25-year-old even lost a position to his rivals. Despite a few crashes, from which the rider with the number 4 also benefited, it was enough in the end for fifth place and another 11 points. Overall, the Spaniard is now in fifth place in the world championship and will try to minimise the gap to the top as early as next week in Mugello.

Lukas Tulovic, on the other side, recorded a crash and a sixth place. To make up for this, the German scored ten points in the second race, keeping him right behind his team-mate in the championship. The first race ended for 'Tulo' on lap 3, when turn 10 proved to be his undoing. With the displeasure and the dust of the gravel brushed from his shoulders, he went into race number 2 in the afternoon, where things went much better for the 23-year-old. However, the 4.66 km long track not far from Barcelona also took its toll on him and his Ducati V21L. In order to improve the feeling for the Mugello Grand Prix from the 31st of May to 2nd of June, the team will now have to evaluate and prepare for the Catalunya weekend in order to pave the way for a successful fourth Grand Prix.
